With the spread of numerous antibiotic resistant strains of microorganisms, we have become experts in detecting, identifying and cleaning up sites that are contaminated with various resistant bacteria. These strains that are now in our communities are capable of causing infections in healthy people. The infections that result can be difficult and, sometimes, impossible to treat. Individuals who are particularly at risk include the elderly, the young, and the immunosuppressed.
